Metamorph: A journey in contemporary architecture
For the 9th International Architecture Biennale, we made a long discovery journey to put students into direct contact with the protagonists of contemporary architecture. A journey to discover the projects of the great architects:
Odile Decq Studio – Ampliamento MACRO, Contemporary Art Museum. Rome
Peter Eisenman Studio – Reinhardt Haus. Berlin
EMBT Studio – Eric Miralles e Benedetta Tagliabue: Santa Caterina Market. Barcellona
Juan Navarro Baldeweg Studio – Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Barcellona
Soriano Studio – Palacio Euskalduna. Bilbao
Meeting architects in their studios, the students got to understand their projects. They discovered different methods of design, creation processes and way of thinking: this was accomplished by seeing maquettes and prototypes, together with the realisation of workshops and architectural learning experiences. The result was a stimulating exchange, an itinerary of activities that is recorded in the volume available to everyone. Take a look at the shooting gallery on flickr.
An editorial version of the project is available: “Metamorph. A journey into contemporary architecture”, Ed. Marsilio, 2004, in addition to a web version.
